Orthodontic appointments
Your First Orthodontic Visit (20 to 40 minutes)
Your first visit to our office is complimentary and is designed to provide you with as much information about your orthodontic and dental needs as possible. During this visit, Dr. Huse will perform a comprehensive evaluation, address your primary concerns, and determine if this is the right time to begin treatment or if further growth and development are needed. In most cases, he will let you know specifically what, if any, orthodontic treatment is necessary. Additionally, he will provide you with the cost and length of time associated with the various treatment options discussed. Dr. Huse believes in providing patients with as much information as possible in order to allow them to make an informed decision in selecting the treatment option that best fits their concerns. If treatment is indicated, the next step is to take a full set of diagnostic records. This can usually be done at the same appointment and consists of impressions, digital photos, and x-rays. These records are carefully analyzed to develop or confirm your specific orthodontic treatment plan.
Placement of Braces (Appliance) (1 to 2 hours)
Your next step will be to have your braces or appliance (RME, TPA, or LA, etc.) placed. Don't worry, this is a painless procedure. In addition, a thorough explanation of how to care for the braces will be provided. This will include how to brush and floss with braces and what foods you should try to avoid.
Regular Appointments (20 to 40 minutes)
You will then see us at regular 4 to 8 week intervals for an adjustment. At this appointment we will change the colored "O's" that hold your wire in and check your oral hygiene to make sure that you are keeping your teeth and braces clean. We may also reposition a bracket, put in a different wire, place a bend in your current wire, or have you start wearing elastics.
Debanding
Upon completion of treatment, the braces are removed, post-treatment photos are taken and clear or bonded retainers are made to hold the teeth in place.
Office Policies and Payment
Our office hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5 PM. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible. It may be difficult to reschedule since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance.
Cost
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including 0% interest payment plans and a no-down-payment option. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans and we will file the necessary papers to the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable, so please feel free to discuss your financial concerns with us.
Fees
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount. (If you have insurance, we will offer a discount for payment of your portion of the fee that will not be covered by insurance.)
To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, MASTERCARD, and Care Credit.
Insurance
In many cases, patients will have some type of orthodontic insurance which will usually cover a part of the treatment fee. If you have insurance, we will be happy to help you determine the coverage available. If you would like to assign your insurance benefit, we will be able to structure a payment plan for the balance. Ultimately, any unpaid balance will be the patient's responsibility to pay. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
